Jens Krogsdal Gudnason

• Born in 1951, Give, Denmark
• 1971: Skilled as a stone mason and monumental mason at Gudnason monumental company in Give, Denmark
• Started during apprenticeship to make models and small sculptures
• 1971-1972: Graduated from Grindsted Gymnasium with A-levels in language and art
• 1973: Art line at Ryslinge folk-high school; tar paintings, ceramics, and welding steel sculptures
• 1974-1978: drawing, modeling and life drawing (croquis) at Vejle School of Art
• 1976: Course in drawing at Århus Academy of Art
• 1979-2007: Working with sculptures in stone, parallel with working at the Gudnason stone factory and Vestergades Stenhuggeri
• 2008: Stepping down the work for the company
• 2008-2021: Member of the art society "Sculpture-Town Give", providing the project with 2 sculptures
• 2010-2011: Student at the sculpture line at the Academy of Art in Århus
• 2011-2015: Working full time creating sculptures, mostly in stone
• 2021: Went to a better place.

After concentrating 100% on the creating sculptures, the artist was able to start a process in which the expression evolves through the sculptures.

An exciting journey began where the sculptures are took different shapes and consequently different expressions. The artist challenged the form of the stone sculpture, its entirety has to be expressed consistently all around the sculpture. The hard stone material acquires expressions from organic, harmonic, female, to more challenging provocatively sharp, complex and even slanting forms and shapes.
